My Photo
Clare is a happily married twenty-something mother to Emily. When she's not singing nursery rhymes and changing nappies, she's being a proper little housewife and attempting to cook or bake. Sometimes it works out. But let's just say she's better at shopping.

How Very Berry

Yesterday, on the way to the corner store to stock up on milk - I'm going through milk like there's no tomorrow - I passed by the florist's and caught sight of some flowers. No ordinary flowers. I tried and failed to resist them. They were in colours almost identical to my wedding bouquet, and for that reason, now that hayfever season is over and I can treat myself to flowers again, I had to have them.

Many will know that our entire wedding was built up around my idea of the perfect bouquet. So you can pretty much gather how important that bouquet was to me. It was the one thing I hated to leave behind, and no amount of preservation retained the beauty of those flowers. I've heard of other girls being attached to their wedding bouquet too, so I know I'm not alone here, as strange as it may sound!

I loved those berries especially, they added the perfect dose of Autumn to it all. I think I might try and save these for as long as possible. Just looking at them brings an instant smile to my face. Crazy berry lady!

(Considering it's just short of 2 years after the event, I still talk about my wedding way more than is healthy, I suspect...)

  1. That is a really beautiful bouquet of flowers. I imagine I would be the same about my wedding if I got married. It should be a day that you want to talk about forever.

  3. What a beautiful bouquet! And how perfect that it resembles your wedding! I was pretty attached to mine as well, but it didn't preserve. It was comprised of white lilies and cranberry colored berries with a burlap wrap. I loved it. xoxo

  4. It is so great to be able to talk about your wedding just as though it was yesterday. You really had a beautiful bouquet. Pity they couldn't be preserved so beautifully when dried, but at least Steffe captured them in her painting :)
